1. ‘The ninth anniversary of the East Japan Earthquake’

Japan Matters in 2019/20.

This was held on Sunday 8 March 2020 at Wellington Church, Glasgow, Scotland.

It was co-organised by Japan Desk Scotland, Japanese Matsuri for Glasgow, and Wellington Church, with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

Japan Desk Scotland’s eighth Fukushima documentary, ‘Fukushima: Radiation map and evacuation‘ (2020) was screened. David Blackhurst, Wellington Church gave an introduction prior to the screening, and offered a prayer after it. Donations were raised for Noda and Fudai Village Offices, both along the Pacific Coast and damaged by the tsunami, which has been sent via their neighbouring village, Kunohe Village Office by Japanese Matsuri for Glasgow. JMG has developed exchanges with Kunnohe Village Office over the years.

This is also a part of Japan Desk Scotland’s activities on Fukushima.
