‘Japan Matters’ events

As part of its activities, Japan Desk Scotland organises the Japan Matters public events series to create a forum on Japan for people in Glasgow and beyond.

The events are free and open to the public.

In 2012/13, six Japan Matters  events were organised in cooperation with Glasgow Museums and with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

In 2013/14, seven Japan Matters events were organised with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

In 2014/15, six Japan Matters events were organised mostly around the theme of Fukushima nuclear accident and environmental radiation issues in Fukushima Prefecture, with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

In 2015/16, two Japan Matters events were organised, with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

In 2016/17, two Japan Matters events were organised, with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

In 2017/18, one Japan Matters event was organised, with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

In 2018/19, one Japan Matters event was organised, with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

In 2019/20, one Japan Matters event was organised, with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

In 2020/21, no Japan Matters events were held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021/22, two Japan Matters events were organised, with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation,    

In 2022/23, one Japan Matters event was organised, with a grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation
