Mr Saito and others contributed an article, ‘Detailed deposition density maps constructed by large-scale soil sampling for gamma-ray emitting radioactive nuclides from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant accident’, to Journal of Environmental Radioactivity.

He gave a talk on the same topic in Glasgow in November 2013, and the summary of his talk is available.

The lecture was organised by Japan Desk Scotland, with grant from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation. It was free and open to the public. It was held in three Scottish cities.

(1) Tuesday 7 October 2014: St Andrew’s and St George’s West, 13 George Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2PA

(2) Thursday 9 October 2014: Ferryhill Parish Church, Fonthill Rd, Aberdeen AB11 6UD

(3) Friday 10 October 2014: Chaplaincy Centre, Level 2, Graham Hills Building, University of Strathclyde 50 George Street, Glasgow G1 1QE.  This was part of Japan@Strathclyde 2014/15.

In addition, on Monday 6 October, Mr Saito gave a talk at the Japanese Club at Cumbernauld Academy, North Lanarkshire.
